Acta Marisiensis. Seria Technologica aims to meet the demand for an international journal bringing together all aspects of research from different areas of knowledge in engineering technologies. The journal fulfils this aim by publishing original research papers of prominent international researchers. The published articles are discussed in terms of concepts, state of the art research, standards, implementations, running experiments, applications, and industrial case studies. Topics are covering a wide range of engineering subjects like: manufacturing, nano and micro technology, information systems, advanced software technology, parallel and distributed computing, power and energy systems, electronics and electrotechnology, optimization techniques, signal and image processing, quality control technology.

Acta Marisiensis. Seria Technologica was established in the year 1969 under the name "Lucrări Știintifice" ("Scientific Papers") of the Pedagogic Institute of Tîrgu Mures. The first three volumes were published in the years 1969 - Vol. I, 1970 - Vol. II, 1981 - Vol. III, and starting with the year 1991 annual publication was made, continuing with volume IV under ISSN 1221-3470. To increase readability of the publication in the international academic world, starting with the year 2005 it appeared in a new series under the name "The Scientific Bulletin of the Petru Maior University of Tîrgu Mureș", drawn up in English. The new series was coded with volume 1 for the year 2005 but kept the numbering since the year 1969, respectively vol. XVIII, having the registration number ISSN 1841-9267. Starting with the year 2009, the journal is issued twice a year in three formats: Print (ISSN-L 1841-9267), Online (ISSN 2285-438X) and CD-ROM (ISSN 2286-3184).

Following the merger of the "Petru Maior" University of Tîrgu Mureş and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tîrgu Mureş into "George Emil Palade" University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology of Tîrgu Mureș, the name of the journal changed into Acta Marisiensis. Seria Technologica.

Currently it must be emphasized that, by its rhythmicity, continuous current research publication as well as international propagation, the journal is connected to the flux of the most relevant publications in the field. The journal very fast compelled recognition, becoming worldwide renowned, thus granting many publication exchanges with schools and academies, publishing houses, libraries and other concerned institutions.

The review and editorial board is international including professors, some of them belonging to the Romanian Academy and the Technical Science Academy in Romania, as well as reputable professors from foreign universities. Each submitted paper is internationally reviewed by two scientific reviewers, recognised in their field of work. A paper must have two favourable reviews in order to be published. Reviewers are expected to write reviews in a timely, collegial, and constructive manner. The reviewers and editors high level of expertise and ability to be objective, fair, and insightful in their evaluation of manuscripts, maintains Acta Marisiensis.
